We can achieve local improvements in soft magnetic materials for magnetoresistive sensor applications. A collaboration between Spin-Ion Technologies and Sensitec GmbH has shown that it is possible to obtain superior magnetic free-layer properties after ion irradiation.
This advance will be invaluable for TMR and AMR technologies.
